Latitude E6420 Integrated Webcam Problem

0
0

Hi

I have dell e5420 with integrated webcam which has Windows 10 installed on it. The Webcam was working fine until last evening and this morning, it has stopped working.

The Windows 10 Camera app shows the error code 0xA00F4244(0xC00D36D5)

The Dell Webcam Central app shows error "No supported webcam found"

When looking at Imaging Devices under Device Manager, there is no driver for the integrated webcam.

Can you please advise how I can fix this?

Thanks

Pawan

Hi! Acording to the online specs this laptop has Intel's HD Graphics 4400 GPU and AMD's Radeon HD 8850M graphics chip, but in device manager is just the intel graphics and when i try to install the amd driver , the amd auto-detect isn`t recognizing the video card. In dxdiag it shows just the intel graphics nothing about the radeon s 8850m . It`s like the video card isn`t there at all. What should i do ?

connecting 2 2K monitors (U3014, UP3017) to Precision M4800

Hi all,

I'm trying to get the 2  2K monitors working with the precision M4800.

Monitor 1 (M1) is connected via the display port cable & Monitor 2 (M2) is connected via the the dvi-d dual link cable.

Precision 4800  is docked with Dell E-Port replicator.

Precision M4800 has the following Display Adapters
 - Intel HD 4600 & nVidia Quadro K1100M

M1 shows 2560x1600, but the max resolution on M2 is 1920x1080.

How do I get both monitors to run at 2K resolutions?

This KB article describes the multiple monitor setup options, but it does not list the max resolutions supported for each option.

any help is appreciated.

thanks!

3D artist or digital artist opinion? Dell Precision 5510 - Xeon - Quadro M1000M

I just purchased a Dell Precision 5510 with a Xeon CPU and the Quadro GPU: http://www.ebay.com/itm/291755935648

I plan on promptly upgrading the SSD to a PCIe NVMe SSD if it does not have one, the 16GB RAM is fine for now but I like that I have the option to go up to 32GB when I choose to.

I had some questions for anyone who is using this for more intense work in 3D or digital imaging, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information out there except that the Quadro 1000m is mostly better than a GTX 960-970m GeForce card because most 3D software is more compatible with it and it is more efficient in rendering which means better performance overall – is this true or just marketing for a lower powered GPU?

I mainly use Maya, Cinema 4D, After Effects and Photoshop in my workflow, most of the work is performed by the CPU but a decent GPU helps to boost render times with certain software and plugins for said software.

I read that the Xeon CPU is built for 24/7 high load server work and enterprise solutions and that it is more effective at heat dissipation than a GeForce variant. I really liked the idea of the laptop handling heat and performace better in this workstation type of a laptop, I plan to keep it cooled with a pad because I know that rendering can be a huge task for most laptops. What I gathered from that info is that I could use this for rendering and not really worry about frying the mobo like might happen with an i7 and GTX combination for this kind of work.

Do you think the Quadro is good for this? I'm super excited that I might also be able to game on medium to high settings in down time, it seems like an all-around workhorse laptop as opposed to a hardcore gaming machine.

Are my assumptions correct? Does anyone here use their Precision 5510 for this kind of taxing work? Can you tell me what bothers you if anything with your laptop?

Also, what type of M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD is best for this model? What do you recommend?

Thanks for your input!

XPS 12 (Intel HD 4400) capped at 100Hz refresh rate

Hi,

When I connect my XPS 12 (2014 model, 9Q33) via displayport to a 144Hz QHD (2560*1440) monitor (Dell 2716DG), the highest refresh rate offered by the Intel driver is 100Hz, regardless of resolution. The laptop has an Intel i5-4210U CPU with an integrated HD 4400 graphics, which should support up to 4K @ 60Hz and therefore QHD (and below) @ 144Hz, but for some reason it's capped at 100Hz at any resolution. I'm using a standard mini-DP to DP cable, which should support DP 1.2. The OS is Win 8.1 x64 and the latest Intel drivers are installed (March 2016). Is there a way to force higher refresh rates than 100Hz?

Screen flicker

Since a couple of weeks I notice that the screen flickers from time to time on my Dell XPS15 (4K display).

Seems to be related to doing typing on the laptop, as it doesn't seem to happen when I for example

watch a movie and don't interact with the laptop.

Any thoughts?

GTX 880M has vanished from my Alienware laptop

Hope someone can give me some pointers but tonight I noticed my Alienware 17 was using Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 as the graphics card rather than the GTX 880M.

The card does not show up in BIOS either now, it could have been like this a while I guess, nothing I have tried has been able to find the card, I did have an issue recently where the laptop was not charging but that seems to have gone away, could e a red herring.

Any ideas what I can try, the laptop is coming up for 2 years old now and out of warranty.

I am on windows 10, the processor is an Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4910MQ CPU @ 2.90GHz

U2515H, Intel HD Graphics 4000, HDMI

Hello,

Recently I've bought a new Dell U2515h monitor: Revision A02, manufactured date Jan. 2016.

I connect the monitor to my laptop Acer Travelmate P243m using the HDMI-HDMI cable.

In the laptop I've replaced Intel Celeron B820/830 processor with Intel I5-3210m, which comes with integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000.

OS used on the laptop is 64-bit Windows 10.

All drivers are up-to-date.

If this information is enough, could I ask you please to guide me through settings to achieve the maximum resolution and video signal quality?

With Intel's software I've created custom profile with following settings:

  • Resolution 2560x1440 (ok, the maximum the monitor can handle)
  • Refresh rate 50Hz (if 55Hz or 60Hz, than error of exceeding max. bandwidth appear. Try 1Hz increment?)
  • Color depth 32 Bit
  • Progressive/interlaced scan - using P is better?
  • Timing: CVT-RB (if GTF or CVT or CEA 861 than error of exceeding max. bandwidth appear)

And these settings work fine and monitor's resolution is 2560x1440 now.

So, there are my questions, please:

  1. How a choice of timing standard influences on video quality on the monitor?
  2. Does CVT-RB (Reduced Black) make black colors look worse? Black screen backlit bleed?
Should I better lower the refresh rate to be able to set GTF or another timing? Which timing?
Or better remain CVT-RB and try increment refresh rate by 1Hz to its maximum possible value?
  3. After finding the maximum possible quality solution for RGB gamut, will choosing a wider gamut (YCbCr) cause the 'exceeding maximum bandwidth' error?

The purpose of using the monitor is photo editing in Photoshop and Lightroom and watching movies (maximum of 1440p run without lags and freezes)

Thank you!

Reg: My Laptop LCD panel replacement

I am owning one dell inspiron 7537 laptop. I had a problem with my laptop LCD(dead pixel) and it got replaced with some refurbished panel just before 2 months. after one month of replacement the screen started to show some problem (flickering / freezing) again I raised service request, this time I asked them to replace a my own lcd panel after serviced. as per the technical support they are ready to replace the part with another refurbished one. they can't replace it my original panel or new one (which I didn't ask) reasons they are saying is like my laptop is old so Dell policy not supports to replace a New Panel to it. OK no problem what I am asking is to get me the original part of my laptop after serviced. There will be no age problem / or dell policy issue. Because I know how much I cared my laptop. And I don’t want someone’s unknown parts that too after refurbished state. Get my laptop’s own part after serviced. Because as you see after fixing a refurbished part, it is not even passed at least a 6 month (most common warranty period) then how much I can blindly trust it again. This is my personal laptop. So I don’t plan to spend another big amount just after the warranty period expires.I have 14 more months remaining my warranty with Accidental cover insurance.

Switchable Graphics Problems Since Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Hey all. I recently updated my Inspiron 15 7547 to the Windows 10 Anniversary Update and ever since, my display drivers haven't been working properly. I boot up the laptop and it starts fine, then after about a minute or two, the screen goes black for about 30 seconds, you hear the sound of a device disconnecting from the laptop and then a blue screen appears for a few minutes with the mouse pointer visible. after a few minutes the computer logs out and the log in screen appears. When I log back in, screen resolution is larger and a message pops up and says AMD drivers are not installed. Does anyone else have this problem and has a fix for it? Dell seems to be lagging on driver updates and this is driving me nuts.

Hi,

I can't seem to get the HDMI output on my XPS15 to work.

I connect the laptop to a Sony Bravia FullHD TV, but nothing happens.

I made sure that the HDMI cable was not at fault using another laptop, but it is fine.

Do I need to enable something?

Hello,

I have dual Dell U2417H monitors connected to a Dell docking station (E-Port Plus II) using Dell Precision Port Laptop.  The problem I am having is that I am unable to get all three displays working simultaneously.  If I place the computer into projector mode then I can get both external monitors working, but only in that conifguration.

I am looking to get both external and Laptops displays working simultaneously, can you help?  I am currently using the supplied Dell mDP (mini Display Port -  HDMI to mDP interface) cables.

I have a USB 3 Dock on my XPS 13.  Sky Go worked fine until I did the Windows 10 anniversary upgrade - now if dock is attached I get a 6030 error when trying toplayback .  Sky support says it is a hardware/driver issue.  It works fine if I disconnect dock..  I believe I am on all latest drivers.

Dell XPS 13 9350 Buzzing Display

Hi,

I have noticed that whenever the (non-touch) screen on my Dell XPS 13 9350 refreshes (e.g. with the mouse pointer moving, webpage scrolling, etc.) I hear a buzzing sound from the bottom left of the display.

Uninstalling the Intel display driver and using the Microsoft Windows generic display driver stops this buzzing from occurring, but that also stops the screen brightness hotkeys from working so it's not really a solution.

Does anyone know how to resolve?

Thanks
